OWN YOUR POWER IN RELATIONSHIPS

1. Do you become obsessive about other people and what they do (or DON'T do?) So much so that you become consumed by it?

2. Do you try to control other people or do you let them control you?

3. Do you think your happiness is found in another person or that your job is to "make" another person happy?

4. Do you feel guilty when you say no or state your needs, and resentful when you say yes or give too much?

5. Do you find it way too easy to take care of other people & anticipate their needs but rather difficult to take care of yourself?

6. Do you live to please other people but have no idea how to please yourself?

7. Do you find it nearly impossible to let go of or detach from a negative situation or person?

8. Do you blame others for how you feel and often feel irritable, resentful, guilty, obligated, and/or trapped?

9. Are you waiting to be saved or think you can save others?

10. Do you have trouble setting boundaries with toxic people and think you're just supposed to endure their mistreatment?

imagine the possibilities

What if you could feel good when you say no and happy when you set a boundary?
What if you could easily let go of the relationships that are holding you back and keeping you stuck?
What if you stopped giving away all your power to everyone else and kept it where it belongs--with yourself?
What would you have time for if you weren't constantly worrying and obsessing about him/her/them?
What if you started attracting balanced, fulfilling, and healthy relationships?

WHY AM I QUALIFIED TO LEAD THIS COURSE?

*I've been a Georgetown university-certified coach for 3 years, coaching people through their individual addiction recovery journeys, and encountering a wide range of life issues along the way, including but not limited to: divorce, child custody, toxic relationships & codependency, eating disorders, body image, depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, and low self-esteem.

*I have personally overcome addictions to food, men, and alcohol/drugs and been walking this sobriety/recovery path for 5.5. years, with the last few years intensely dedicated to cultivating healthy relationship behaviors. I've successfully detached from toxic exes and friends and am now attracted to those who can show up for me. My own inner work is a lifelong project that I'm intrinsically committed to (including extensive work in the Alanon and ACOA 12-step programs), and from this springs my desire to share & hold space for you on your unique journey.

*My work & writing has been featured in top online publications, such as The Huffington Post, Tiny Buddha, The Good Men Project, and The USA Today Network

*I was named one of the Top 20 Addiction Recovery blogs by Addiction Unscripted.

*I was one of the 10 women invited to be on the Sober Bloggers Team for the SheRecovers conference this May in NYC, featuring keynotes by Marianne Williamson, Glennon Doyle Melton, Gabrielle Bernstein, and Elizabeth Vargas. I said yes.

*Besides being a certified and trained coach (a coach is a behavior change & transformation specialist), my Bachelors degree is in Psychology (the study of the human mind & why we do the things we do), I hold 2 yoga teacher certifications (power vinyasa and yoga for recovery), am Reiki-2 certified (reiki is attuning oneself to energy and using that energy to heal & restore), and am an avid self-learner of spirituality & healing. All of my areas of study have informed my work as a coach, given me a diverse lens to look through, & allowed me to bring a holistic & individualistic approach to each person I work with.

*Oh yes, and I went from being a fully dysfunctional borderline suicidal addict who spent time in the psych ward to someone who is functional, full of peace, led by her heart, feels free, has an empowered mindset, owns her warrior goddess-ness, and is content with what is. And I'm super passionate about leading YOU to your freedom, peace, and delicious empowerment.

Some random & fun tidbits about moi:

*for those of you who take stock in the MBTI personality inventory, I am a whole-hearted INFP but sometimes adopt the outgoing introvert role when I'm out in social situations.

*I choose comfort over fashion whenever possible, thus fashionable comfort is ideal.

*I love astrology and horoscopes as much as Facebookers love pet videos and pictures of babies. My sun sign is Leo, moon (emotional psyche) in Pisces, and venus (love style) in Cancer.

*If you ask me to pick a nail polish color at the nail salon, you may as well be asking what I'd like for my Last Supper, but my default is usually matte baby pink.

*I adore the beach at dusk as much as the quiet study room of any public library.

*I swoon over flowers and get pumped from heavy metal music.

*I sometimes get lost at Target.
